How to Upload Your World to a Terraria Server

If you play Terraria with friends by hosting the game on your PC, the world only exists while you are online. With a dedicated server the world stays up all day and everyone joins whenever they want.

1. Find your world

Terraria worlds are .wld files:

  • Windows: Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/Terraria/Worlds
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Terraria/Worlds

If the world is saved in the Steam Cloud, move it to your PC first from the Terraria world selection screen.

2. Order the server

In the game server cart pick Terraria 8 slots ($8 a month). The server is created automatically once payment clears. It runs on our Argentina node, so it works best for players in South America.

3. Upload the world

From your Atria account open the game panel. The same password works for SFTP, for example with FileZilla. Upload the .wld file to the server worlds folder, or use the panel file manager.

4. Pick the world and start

In the panel startup settings enter the world name and start the server. Your friends join from Multiplayer → Join via IP with the address and port shown in the panel.
